Where a luxury villa is judged
People rarely remember the structure of a house, but they notice the floors. A marble hall with matching veining, a seamless tile run from living room to terrace, a bathroom where patterns align at every corner: these details signal quality instantly, and flaws signal the opposite just as fast.
We coordinate stone and tiling as part of the whole build, so levels, screeds, waterproofing, underfloor services and door thresholds are resolved before the first slab is laid. That coordination is why the finish looks effortless.
Materials and applications
- Marble and natural stone flooring, wall cladding and feature walls
- Large-format porcelain tiles in living areas, kitchens and bathrooms
- External stone and porcelain paving for terraces, steps and pool surrounds
- Stair treads, risers and skirtings in stone
- Mosaic and feature tiling in wet areas
- Engineered timber and other floor finishes coordinated with the interior designer
Preparation is most of the job
Large stone and porcelain tiles demand a flat, stable, correctly cured substrate with waterproofing installed and tested beneath it. We check screed levels and flatness, set out from a datum so patterns and joints work across rooms, and select adhesives for the material and location, including external areas that experience high temperatures.
Layout, matching and joints
Natural stone varies, so we lay out and match slabs before fixing, line up joints between rooms and carry layouts through to thresholds and stairs. Grout colour and joint width are agreed in advance, and movement joints are provided where large areas require them.
Protection and finishing
Stone is sealed, polished or honed as specified, and protected from other trades until handover. If you also need glass shower enclosures, balustrades or mirrors, they are fitted after tiling so measurements are exact: see frameless shower enclosures.
