Services are where buildings succeed or fail
A building can be structurally perfect and still frustrating to live in if the air conditioning is poorly balanced, the water pressure is erratic, or the distribution board is in the wrong place. MEP, mechanical, electrical and plumbing, is the nervous system of a villa or building, and it has to be designed and coordinated before walls and ceilings close.
As main contractor, we manage MEP within the programme alongside structure and finishes. The consultant designs the systems; we deliver the installation, sequence the builders' work such as sleeves, chases and plant bases, and carry out testing and handover documentation. Our project record includes EV charging bays with paving, kerbs and markings at a hotel in the UAE, where we coordinate with our sister company Master Turbo under one point of contact.
Systems we deliver
- Electrical: distribution boards, wiring, lighting, power and low-current systems
- Plumbing and drainage: water supply, sanitary, drainage and rainwater
- HVAC: split, ducted and chilled water systems, ventilation and extraction
- Fire fighting and life-safety systems, as required by the project
- EV charging points with civil bay works
- Pool and plant room services where applicable
Coordination before it is built
The most common MEP problems are caused by lack of coordination: ducts hitting beams, pipes crossing doorways, equipment with no space for maintenance. We review the consultant's drawings against structure and architecture, resolve clashes before installation, and agree plant positions, access and service routes up front.
Testing, commissioning and handover
Systems are tested and commissioned before handover, and you receive documentation including as-built drawings and operating guidance. Authority inspections and connections, such as utilities and civil defence, are scheduled into the programme.
EV charging
For EV charger installation, our sister company Master Turbo specialises in charging solutions, while we deliver the civils, bays and paving. Read more on our Aloft Hotel EV charging project.
