The groundwork that decides the rest of the build
Deep excavations are where a project is most exposed to risk: unstable sides, groundwater, adjacent structures and underground services. Doing this stage well means the structure above can be built to programme. Doing it badly can cause delays, damage to neighbours and cost overruns that no amount of good finishing will repair.
Our project record includes piling rig and crawler crane operations, basement excavations with retained sides and concrete placed inside deep supported pits on villa projects in Dubai. We approach excavation as part of the overall construction sequence, not an isolated earthworks package.
Scope
- Bulk and detailed excavation for basements, raft foundations and pile caps
- Temporary shoring, retaining and support systems designed by the engineer
- Dewatering and groundwater control during excavation and construction
- Trenching for drainage, utilities and services
- Soil removal, disposal and backfilling with approved material
- Compaction, blinding and preparation for foundation works
Groundwater in Dubai
In many parts of Dubai, especially coastal and low-lying areas, the water table is high and excavations meet groundwater quickly. Dewatering keeps the pit workable and the concrete dry while it is placed and cured, and the method depends on soil, depth and nearby structures. We follow the geotechnical report and the dewatering design provided by the consultant or engineer.
Safety and neighbours
Deep excavation requires barriers, access control, monitoring and a plan for emergencies. We protect adjacent buildings, boundary walls and services, and communicate with community management where excavation is close to occupied properties.
Next step
Send the site location, soil investigation report if available, drawings showing excavation depth and the proposed structure. We will review the scope and provide a proposal. Related services: basement construction and foundations and piling.
